Cardinals win division for third straight year
The Ball State soccer team won the Mid-American Conference West Division championship for the third straight year in 2017, becoming the first MAC program to win three consecutive division titles.

Here are a few other highlights from the Cardinals' season …

-- BSU finished 11-7-3, surpassing the 10-win mark for the fifth consecutive season.

-- The Cardinals' home unbeaten streak reached 25 games at one point this year. It was the longest active streak in the nation at the time.

-- Ball State went 8-1-2 in MAC play to run its conference record over the past three years to 27-3-3, the best of any team in the league during that stretch.

-- The 2017 senior class finished with 50 wins over the past four years, tying the 2016 group of seniors for the second-most in school history by a single class.

-- Senior goalkeeper Alyssa Heintschel was selected as a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award for women's soccer. Fan voting is still in progress through Nov. 20.

-- Two BSU players were selected HERO Sports HERO of the Week in nationwide votes. Sophomore midfielder Julia Elvbo and junior midfielder Lauren Roll each won the award once this season.
