Women's Tennis Ends Fall Play At Louisville Invite

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Ball State women's tennis team finished the 2017 fall tournament play at the Louisville Invitational Sunday afternoon.Â
In singles play Sunday, Victoria Sec managed to earn a 6-0, 6-1 victory over host Louisville's Anna Collins.Â
On Friday, the Cardinals found success against West Virginia in doubles action. Ball State took two of the three from Mountaineers. Audrey Berger alongside teammate Rebecca Herrington captured a 6-3 decision over Paula Goetz and Giovanna Caputo. Sarah Swiderski paired up with Isabelle Dohanics to earn a 6-4 victory over Anne-Sophie Corteau and Kirsten White.
The Cardinals had some tough competition especially when they faced Big Ten foe Michigan State. Berger would be the lone Ball State player to earn a singles win over the Spartans after posting a three set thriller, 6-2, 4-6, 10-8 over Emily Metcalf.Â
Ball State also earned singles victories over West Virginia, taking two of the six. Peyton Gollhofer registered a 7-6, 6-2 win over Goetz and teammate Julia Sbircea took down Caputo in three sets, 7-6 (4), 1-6, 10-2.
