Carley Shannon Named to All-MAC Second Team

MUNCIE, Ind.– The Mid-American Conference announced the 2017 All-MAC teams earlier this week and a Ball State Cardinal made the list. Senior Carley Shannon was honored with an All-MAC Second Team nod.
Shannon led the Cardinal squad this season with a total of nine points. Shannon started in all 17 games for Ball State and tallied three goals on the season, including two game winners. She also added three assists and a .889 shot on goal percentage.
Shannon is a four year letterwinner for the Cardinals. As a freshman, she saw action in all 16 Ball State games and scored her first career goal against Saint Louis. She finished that season with five shots, four of which were on goal.
During her sophomore season, Shannon started 17 of the Cardinal's 18 games. She tallied one goal, which was against Indiana, along with 11 shots, two points and a .273 shot on goal percentage.
Last season, Shannon was named team co-captain as a junior. She started all 19 games, scoring two goals and marking a .385 shot on goal percentage. Post season, Shannon was honored for her stellar academics by being named to Academic All-MAC and NFHCA National Scholar of Distinction.
Shannon and the Ball State squad finished the 2017 season with a 5-12 record, 1-5 in the MAC.
