Opening Tip
• Ball State will play its first Mid-American Conference home game Saturday when it hosts Bowling Green in the first of two meetings between the teams in 15 days. The teams will play again Jan. 21 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
• Bowling Green lost its conference opener Tuesday at preseason MAC East Division favorite Akron, 89-84. The Falcons have won three of their past five games. Wes Alcegaire leads the team in scoring at 13.1 points per game.
• The Cardinals won last year's only meeting on the road, coming from 14 points down in the second half for a 72-64 victory behind 16 points each from Franko House and Francis Kiapway.
• Saturday's matchup is the first of two in a row at home for Ball State, which will play a third straight MAC East Division opponent Tuesday when Miami visits Worthen Arena.
• Ball State opened MAC play Tuesday with a 100-90 loss at Kent State, snapping the Cardinals' five-game winning streak. Ryan Weber led five double-figure scorers for BSU with 19 points, all of which came in the first half.
• Senior forward Franko House made the 94th start of his career Tuesday, moving into sole possession of 10th place on the Cardinals' list for career starts. With his next start, he will tie Randy Davis (2008-12) for ninth. Jarrod Jones (2008-12) is the all-time leader at 121.
• Redshirt freshman forward Tahjai Teague leads the Cardinals and ranks 28th nationally in defensive rebounding percentage, grabbing 27.6 percent of all available rebounds on the defensive end while he is on the floor.
• Sophomore center Trey Moses is averaging a double-double over the past 11 games at 10.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per contest.
Career vs. Bowling Green
• Among active Ball State players who have played more than one career game against Bowling Green, senior forward Franko House leads the way with an average of 11.4 points per game against the Falcons.
• In five career games against Bowling Green, House has connected on 19 of 36 shots from the floor (.528) and has also averaged 4.6 rebounds per contest.
• Junior guards Francis Kiapway and Sean Sellers are both 50 percent 3-point shooters over four career games against the Falcons, with Kiapway hitting 9 of 18 and Sellers 8 of 16.
• Kiapway is averaging 9.3 points for his career against Bowling Green, including a pair of 16-point performances (one two years ago in Muncie and one last year at BG).
Class of 2015's Efficiency
• Redshirt freshman Tahjai Teague (.558) and sophomore Trey Moses (.557) rank third and fourth in the MAC, respectively, in field goal percentage.
• The pair came to Ball State together as part of the 2015 recruiting class. Moses played all 35 games as a freshman last season, while Teague redshirted.
