• The teams split two meetings last season with each team winning on its home floor. The Cardinals won 87-69 in the 2016 MAC opener and lost 77-67 in the return trip to Toledo.
• Tuesday's game is the second of three in a row at home for Ball State. The Cardinals will close out the home stand Friday at 9 p.m. against Buffalo on ESPNU (the game was moved from Saturday as part of the MAC television package).
• Ball State is coming off an 84-78 victory over Western Michigan behind 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting from sophomore guard Tayler Persons. The Cardinals shot a season-next 58.3 percent from the floor, their second-highest mark against a Division I opponent over the past decade.
• Toledo split two games last week, winning 79-76 at Ohio and falling 74-72 at home to Northern Illinois. The Rockets feature the MAC's leading rebounder in Steve Taylor Jr. (12.2) and the league's second-leading scorer in Jonathan Williams (20.4).
• Tuesday's game marks the midway point of the conference schedule. The Cardinals currently share the MAC West Division lead with Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois.
• Senior forward Franko House made the 100th start of his career Saturday against Western Michigan, moving into a tie for fifth on Ball State's career list. He moved into the top 10 in school annals in rebounding with 656 for his career.
• The Cardinals rank second the MAC in scoring offense during conference play at 85.2 points per game. BSU has scored at least 84 points in six of its eight conference games.
