The Cardinals just suffered their first loss in league action after losing by a score of 101-92 at MAC rival Central Michigan Wednesday night in McGuirk Arena. The Cardinals are currently 10-6 overall and 3-1 in MAC action.
• Akron comes to Worthen Arena with a 7-8 overall record and an 0-4 conference ledger. The Zips have lost four straight all during league action after suffering setbacks at Western Michigan (73-60) and Central Michigan (89-62). Akron recently dropped back-to-back home games versus Bowling Green (62-58) and Ohio (85-69).
• Saturday's game against Akron will mark the 36th time in program history the two schools have met with the Cardinals leading the all-time series, 19-16. The last time Ball State defeated Akron was last season in Worthen Arena on Feb. 3 by a score of 78-71.
• Fifth year head coach Brady Sallee has guided the Cardinals to a 24-11 (.687) Mid-American Conference mark in the month of January over the course of his last four years; 2012-13 (6-1), 2013-14 (4-4), 2014-15 (6-3), 2015-16 (6-2) and 2016-17 (2-1).

Fans will want to be in their seats before the games start to see a video highlighting memorable games, concerts and events from the past 25 years.
