Four Cardinals Entered in NWSL Draft

Draft scheduled for Thursday in Los Angeles

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Four members of Ball State's back-to-back Mid-American Conference championship soccer teams are entered in this week's National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) College Draft.

Defenders Lorina White and Leah Mattingly and midfielders Chay McNitt and Gabby Veldman are among the list of potential draft picks.

The draft will be held Thursday at 12 p.m. PT (3 p.m. ET) at the National Soccer Coaches Association Convention in Los Angeles.

Ball State boasts four of the six Mid-American Conference players entered in the draft and four of the 11 players from Indiana schools.

The Cardinals went 14-3-3 overall in 2016 and won the MAC regular season championship for the second year in a row with a 9-1-1 league mark.

This year's senior class, which includes the four players entered in the draft, won a combined 50 games over four years in Muncie. That's the second-most wins of any class in program history.
