BSU will play final road game of non-conference schedule
Game 7
Ball State at Louisville
Friday, Sept. 9 (7:30 p.m.)
Louisville, Ky. (Lynn Stadium)
The Ball State soccer team will wrap up its longest road stretch of the season Friday at Louisville with its third straight game away from home.
The travel is easier than last week's trip to California, but the challenge is no less. Ball State will face an ACC team that is 4-1-1 and has outscored its opponents 17-5 so far this year.
Three of the goals Louisville has allowed came in one game, last Friday's 3-1 loss to Kentucky. But UofL bounced back to close the weekend with a 3-1 win over Harvard.
Ball State will look to get some offense going after being shut out twice last weekend in its first losses of the season at Cal State Northridge and Loyola Marymount. Still, the Cardinals (3-2-1) rank second in the Mid-American Conference with 10 goals this season.
Friday's matchup will feature two balanced teams. Ball State has featured seven different goals scorers, led by Lauren Roll, Emily Scott and Sam Kambol with two each. Louisville, meanwhile, has had 12 different players score, led by Gabrielle Vincent with three goals.
This is the first of back-to-back weekends with just one game for Ball State as the team prepares for MAC play. The Cardinals will close the non-conference schedule Friday, Sept. 16 at home against Morehead State.
