Schaufele Named MAC Defensive Player of the Week
October 13, 2026 | Soccer
Ainsley Schaufele has been named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
The junior from Mason, Ohio led a Ball State backline that shut out Bowling Green and limited the Falcons to five shots on goal in Saturday's 1-0 win for the Cardinals in Muncie.
Schaufele played the full 90 minutes in helping the hosts hand Bowling Green its first MAC loss of the season and only its second conference loss since the start of the 2025 season. She has now played 90 minutes in 12 straight matches.
This is Ball State's first weekly recognition of the year and Schaufele's first in her career.
Ball State's next scheduled match is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday at Kent State.
