LIVE SCORING
YORKTOWN, Ind. -- Led by Sydney Anderson's 36-hole total of 142 (-2), the Ball State women's golf team played its way into fourth place Monday on the opening day of its own Cardinal Classic.
The Cardinals own a team total of 596 (+20) after Monday's action at The Players Club. Defending champion Eastern Kentucky (+4) leads the way, followed by Toledo (+13) and Western Michigan (+13) in a tie for second.
Anderson opened the day with her second straight bogey-free round of 69. The sophomore from Columbus, Indiana, posted the same number in the final round of the season-opening Redbird Invitational two weeks ago. She is the first player in program history to record back-to-back rounds of 69 or better.
Like she did in the first round, Anderson carded three birdies again in the second on her way to a 73. With one round left to play, she is one stroke off the lead held by Eastern Kentucky's Elsa Moberly.
Morgan Nadaline is the second Ball State player on the leaderboard after a pair of consistent rounds. She backed up her opening 75 with a 74 to end the day in a tie for 16th place at 149 (+5).
Allison Lindley, who climbed into the top 15 with three birdies in the first eight holes of her afternoon round, finished the day tied for 29th. Kelsey Sear (T34) and Manon Tounalom (T51) round out the Ball State lineup, while Kayla Adamson is competing as an individual and is tied for 66th.
The final round begins Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
