
Women's Tennis Ends Action At MTC Sunday

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Ball State women's tennis team ended action at the 41st annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic Sunday afternoon which was hosted by Marquette University and held at the Town Club in Fox Point, Wis.
The Cardinals started the morning off with two doubles matches against host Marquette. Despite putting up a good fight, both Ball State twosomes of Carmen Blanco and partner Isabelle Dohanics and teammates Toni Ormond and Grae Koscielski each suffered losses to the Golden Eagles.
Ball State then ended its competition at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic against Boise State in the afternoon session. Blanco took down Lilian Poling in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. Rosalinda Calderon took a three set thriller from Milena Toseva, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6. In an additional match, Koscielski faced Wisconsin's Sydney Rider which resulted in a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
At the conclusion of the tournament Blanco was awarded women's singles champion and Peyton Gollhofer earned runner-up honors.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues fall play at the Purdue Invite which begins Friday, Oct. 7 in West Lafayette, Ind.
