Women’s Golf Takes Fourth at Cardinal Classic

YORKTOWN, Ind. -- Kelsey Sear led the Ball State women's golf team Tuesday with a 1-over par 73 to help the Cardinals hold onto fourth place at the Cardinal Classic.
Sear climbed 15 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 19th to give Ball State three players in the top 20. Sydney Anderson, who entered the day in second place, tied for ninth at 4 over par, while Morgan Nadaline tied for 14th.
In addition to Sear's 73, Ball State also counted a 75 from Nadaline, a 76 from Allison Lindley and a 77 from Manon Tounalom on the way to a final-round score of 301 as a team. The Cardinals finished with a 54-hole total of 897 at The Players Club.
Eastern Kentucky defended its Cardinal Classic team championship from a year ago, finishing eight shots clear of the field with a total of 874 (+10). Toledo (+18) finished second, and Western Michigan (+21) was third in the 16-team field.
EKU's Elsa Moberly held onto her overnight lead to claim individual medalist honors at 5 under par. Western Michigan's Kaitlyn Watkins (-2) was second, and Ohio's Hailey Hrynewich (-1) was third.
This week's event was the second of Ball State's fall schedule. The Cardinals will return to action next Monday and Tuesday at the Kzoo Classic in Portage, Michigan.
