Men's Tennis Puts Another MTC In The Books

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Ball State men's tennis team ended its annual trip to the Milwaukee Tennis Classic Sunday afternoon at the Town Club in Fox Point, Wis. Â The event which was hosted by Marquette began Friday and was held in a round-robin format of singles and doubles play with a point system in place.
The Cardinals wrapped its three days of competition up in doubles action against Big Ten foe Wisconsin.  Lucas Andersen and Andrew Stutz lost a close 7-6 match to the Carranza and Colton.  Patrick Downs and Conner Andersenplayed a tight match but lost 7-5.  Twin brothers Marko Guzina and Nemanja Guzina defeated Wisconsin's doubles tandem of Sweet and Soyfer, 6-2.
Ball State then finished with six singles matches against Navy.  Lucas Andersen, Conner Andersen, Andrew Stutz and Nemanja Guzina captured straight set wins over their respective opponents.  Marko Guzina won his first set 6-3 but then lost by the same score in the second set to Majkic.  Marko Guzina fought back in the third set winning the match 6-3.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues fall play at the Purdue Invitational Friday, Sept. 23 in West Lafayette, Ind.
