Women's Golf Travels to Illinois State for Opener

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State women's golf team will begin its 2016-17 season Sunday when the Cardinals tee off in the opening round of Illinois State's Redbird Invitational.
The action begins with 36 holes Sunday at Weibring Golf Club, starting at 8:30 a.m. CT (9:30 a.m. ET), and wraps up with the final round Monday. Live scoring is available at birdiefire.com.
Seniors Kelsey Sear and Allison Lindley headline the Ball State lineup. The pair combined for nine top-10 finishes last season and led Ball State in scoring average with Lindley at 76.38 and Sear at 77.91.
The Cardinals' lineup will also feature juniors Kayla Adamson and Morgan Nadaline along with freshman Manon Tounalom, who will be making her collegiate debut. Sophomore Sydney Anderson will compete as an individual.
The 14-team field for the event also includes Boston College, Bowling Green, Bradley, Butler, Drake, Evansville, FGCU, Loyola-Chicago, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Southern Illinois and Western Illinois.
Ball State has played in the Redbird Invitational in each of the past five seasons, finishing among the top four teams on four occasions. Nadaline led the Cardinals last season with a ninth-place finish.
The Redbird Invitational is the first of five events on Ball State's fall schedule, which includes the team's home tournament, the Cardinal Classic, Sept. 19-20 at The Players Club in Yorktown.
