June 13, 2016 | Women's Tennis
MUNCIE, Ind.- Ball State women's tennis head coach Max Norris announced the addition of Grace Koscielski (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral High School) to the Ball State women's tennis roster in 2016-17.
"We are thrilled to be adding Grace to our program," Norris said. "Grace is a great person and teammate. Grace comes from a great high school tennis program in Indianapolis Cathedral, which just won the Indiana state championship. She knows what it means to accomplish great things as part of a team. Grace has also trained extensively with Jeff Smith (who is a Ball State alum) who has produced many elite college players. Grace will add the right experience and competitive attitude to our culture."
Koscielski, a recent graduate of Cathedral High School, is ranked as the No. 2 player in Indiana for the class of 2016 according to Tennisrecruiting.net. She went 27-0 this past season for the Fighting Irish at the No. 2 singles position. Koscielski helped Cathedral win the 2016 Indiana High School State Championship title. She is also a four-time First Team All-State honoree. In 2013, she was voted Cathedral's Most Valuable Player as a freshman.
A four-year letterwinner, Koscielski has also had success on the United State Tennis Association summer circuit. She won the Central Indiana Qualifier in 2014 in the Girls 18s bracket.
She comes from a family rich in tennis, as her father Paul Koscielski played college tennis at Texas and her mother Amy Boyle Koscielski was a tennis player at Miami University.
