Five More to Join Soccer Program This Fall

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State soccer program has added five players to its incoming class for the 2016 season. The defending Mid-American Conference regular season champions have now welcomed nine new faces to the program this offseason. The most recent additions include:
Jordan Edouard, Defender (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas HS/Coastal Carolina)
Julia Elvbo, Forward/Midfielder (Lit, Sweden/StorsjoGymnasiet)
Kenzi Gooley, Midfielder (Milford, Ohio/Milford HS)
Mónica Padilla, Midfielder (Valladolid, Spain/IES Rio Duero)
Yela Ziswiler, Defender (Spiez, Switzerland/Gymnasium, Wirtschafts- und Fachmittelschule Thun)

Pre-Ball State: Spent her freshman season at Coastal Carolina, where she redshirted … member of U20 Haiti Women's National Team ... played at St. Thomas Aquinas for coach Carlos Giron … helped her team to back-to-back state championships as a junior and senior and a No. 1 national ranking by MaxPreps in 2015 ... anchored a defense that allowed just four goals in 26 games her senior year ... contributed to team's 66-6-4 overall record over her final three years … MVP of the 2014 Timberwolf Classic Showcase Tournament … played club soccer for Team Boca 96/97 White … helped her team win the Florida State Premier League (2014-15) and reach the finals of the Florida State Cup (2015).
Personal: Full name is Jordan Allison Edouard … born Feb. 25, 1997 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida … daughter of Frantz Edouard and Lilia Francois … has one sister, Mekael Capita, and one brother, Jeremiah Edouard … father played soccer at Miami-Dade College and FIU.
Quoting Coach Roberts: “Jordan is a talented defender who has experience playing for the Haiti National Team. She loves to get forward and attack from the back. She is a player who has much upside. I believe her talent will be unveiled as she continues to work in our Ball State environment.”
Julia Elvbo, Forward/Midfielder
Lit, Sweden/StorsjoGymnasiet
Pre-Ball State: Played for the Östersunds club in the Swedish premier division … played on that team alongside former Ball State All-MAC performer Brigit Reder.
Personal: Full name is Julia Celine Margareta Elvbo … born Sept. 8, 1998 in Östersund, Sweden … daughter of Bengt and Rowaida Elvbo … has one sister, Danielle, and one brother, Oliver … intends to major in international business.
Quoting Coach Roberts: “Julia has great attacking flare. She has a desire to score goals. Her strength and dedicated mentality will be difficult for any defense to handle. Her speed and high level of skill will have a major impact in our forward and midfield lines this year.”
Kenzi Gooley, Midfielder
Milford, Ohio/Milford HS
High School: Lettered three years at Milford for coach Patrick Winkler … named to the All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference First Team as a senior … also team captain and MVP … a four-time All-Academic ECC selection and All-Academic Ohio as a senior … recorded seven goals and nine assists for her career … part of Milford's conference championship team in 2012 and league runner-up squad in 2014 … played at the club level for Cincinnati Soccer Alliance G97 Elite, coached by Alex Rawlings … helped her team win the Ohio South State League in 2013 … reached the finals of the Ohio State Cup in 2014 and the semifinals in 2015 … earned High Honors all four years at Milford … an AP Scholar with Distinctions.
Personal: Full name is MacKenzi Taylor Gooley … born Nov. 22, 1997 in Cincinnati, Ohio … daughter of Nate and Misty Gooley … has one sister, Landen … her aunt, Sumer Linger, played college soccer at Liberty … intends to major is creative writing.

Mónica Padilla, Midfielder
Valladolid, Spain/IES Rio Duero
Pre-Ball State: Plays for San Pio X soccer club, coached by Martín Olmedo … scored 40 goals over the past four seasons, including 12 in 2014-15 … named to the Castilla León All-State Team four years in a row … helped her team win the Miranda championship in 2014 … the team is leading its league this season after finishing runner-up in each of the previous three seasons … member of the Olympic Development regional team each of the past five years … pre-selection national team in 2012.
Personal: Full name is Mónica Padilla Lamadrid … born March 7, 1998 in Valladolid, Spain … daughter of Jose Antonio Padilla and Cristina Lamadrid Morón … has two sisters, Soraya and Sara … undecided on a college major.

Her positive attitude and intensity have served her well as a captain with her club team. These leadership qualities will carry over in our pursuit of another successful season.”

Pre-Ball State: Member of the U17 and U19 Swiss National Teams … played club soccer for BSC Young Boys, coached by Rolf Kirchhofer … helped her team win the 2015 Swiss Indoor Soccer championship … finished third at the U19 National Championships.
Personal: Full name is Yela-Maria Ziswiler ... born Sept. 2, 1997 in Bern, Switzerland ... daughter of Marco and Gabriela Ziswiler ... has one brother, Nino ... intends to major in economics and pre-law.
Quoting Coach Roberts: “Yela has great positional awareness. She is a very intelligent player who knows when to be patient as defender and when to step strong. She has very good heading ability. Yela has performed at the national team level along with the highest leagues in Switzerland. This experience will help build a backbone for our defense.”
