VanDeventer, Watts Named Academic All-MAC

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State men's golfers Michael VanDeventer and Johnny Watts were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team announced Thursday.
Not only did the pair succeed in the classroom this year, but they also led the team in stroke average with Watts at 73.75 and VanDeventer at 74.85. Both players just completed their sophomore campaign.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To be named to the team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's contests. Freshmen are not eligible for the award.
