Game Notes
Opening Pitch: The Cardinals continue their Spring Break trip to Savannah, Georgia to face Savannah State for a two-game series. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
LHP Matt Haro will make his second start of the season Tuesday night against the Tigers. He pitched a season-high five innings in relief against Milwaukee on Feb. 26. In that game, Haro struck out seven batters and gave up just one run.
This Past Weekend: Ball State picked up two wins over Cincinnati as well as two losses to No. 13 Ole Miss and No. 18 Coastal Carolina at the Chanticleer Classic.
3B Sean Kennedy (.438) and C Jarett Rindfleisch (.429) each hit better than .400 during the four games. Kennedy had a hit in all four games, led the team with four RBIs and knocked in the winning run in the 4-3 decision over Cincinnati.
RHP Brendan Burns struck out a team season-high eight batters in the 6-4 win over Cincinnati.
Maloney Heating Up: SS Alex Maloney enters Tuesday's game on an eight-game hitting streak. He went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in the 7-3 loss to No. 13 Ole Miss. In fact, Maloney has doubled in three of the last four outings.
Bats Starting to Make Noise: Following the Chanticleer Classic weekend, Ball State's team batting average sits at .263, its highest mark of the season. The Cardinals recorded 13 extra-base hits at the Chanticleer Classic including five doubles on Sunday against Coastal Carolina.
