
Men's Tennis Suffers 4-0 Loss At No. 53 Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team suffered a 4-0 loss at No. 53 Indiana Friday afternoon in the IU Tennis Center.
The Hoosiers opened up doubles play with a 6-2 victory over Marko Guzina and Matt Helm on court three. Lucas Andersen alongside teammate Andrew Stutz then evened the doubles score 1-1 with their 7-6 win over Indiana's Daniel Bednarczyk and Sam Monette at the No. 1 spot. But IU would clinch the double point on court two after Stefan Lugonjic and Chris Essick claimed a 7-5 defeat over the Cardinals doubles tandem Collin Rigney and Conner Andersen.
In singles action, the Hoosiers started with a 6-0, 6-1 defeat on court four to go up 2-0 over Ball State. Lucas Andersen then dropped a 6-1, 6-3 match to No. 27 Sam Monette at No. 1 singles which gave IU the 3-0 advantage over the Cardinals. Indiana's Elliott Yee clinched the match for IU after beating Conner Andersen, 6-1, 6-1. The remainder of the singles competitions went unfinished.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues its 2016 spring season on the road at No. 36 Notre Dame in the Eck Tennis Pavilion.
