Women?s Golf Ninth through Two Rounds at FGCU

ESTERO, Fla. -- Kelsey Sear and Sydney Anderson led the Ball State women's golf team Saturday with a pair of 77s on day two of the FGCU Eagle Invitational.
The Cardinals posted a team score of 313 to drop one spot into ninth place with a 36-hole total of 624 (+48). They also counted a 78 from Allison Lindley and an 81 from Kayla Adamson in round two.
Ball State again found success on the front nine at Stoneybrook Golf Club. The team's counters played that side in 7 over par and the back side in 18 over. Through two rounds, the Cardinals are 13 over on the front and 35 over on the back.
Mercer (+18) posted the low round of the tournament with a 293 to extend its lead to 13 shots. Toledo (+31) is second, followed by Elon (+32), FGCU (+33) and Xavier (+34) in the field of 15 teams.
Lindley remained the top Ball State player on the individual leaderboard in a tie for 10th with a 36-hole score of 151 (+7). Sear is tied for 25th at 154 (+10), while Anderson climbed into a tie for 41st at 158 (+14).
Mercer's Payton Schanen (-3) is the only player in the field in red figures. She will take a four-shot lead into the final day.
The tournament concludes Sunday with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start, and live scoring is available at golfstat.com. This week marks Ball Sate's first event of the spring season.
