Cardinal Notes:
• The Ball State women's basketball will face its last opponent from the state of Indiana when it hosts Big Ten foe Purdue Thursday night at 7 p.m. in Worthen Arena.  The Cardinals are looking for their third-straight win and sixth of the season after improving to 5-2 Sunday afternoon with Ball State's 74-50 victory over in-state rival Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Â
• The win over Butler Sunday marked the first time the Cardinals have defeated the Bulldogs in Hinkle Fieldhouse since the 2006-07 season.  Sophomore guard Destiny Washington let the Cardinals offensively with a 17-point performance, just one shy of her career best.  Sophomore guard Carmen Grande and senior center Renee Bennett chipped in 16-points apiece while junior forward Moriah Monaco ended the day with 10. Monaco has now scored in double figures in all seven of Ball State's games this season.
• Thursday's contest against Purdue will mark the 24th time in program history the two schools have met with Purdue leading the all-time series, 18-5.  The last time the Cardinals defeated the Boilermakers was Dec. 13, 1979 by a score of 63-53 in Muncie, Ind. Purdue has won the last 15 matchups heading into Thursday.
• After seven games, four different Cardinals are averaging in double figures in scoring, led by junior forward Moriah Monaco at 16.3 points per game.  Senior center Renee Bennett (14.9), sophomore guard Destiny Washington (11.4) and senior guard Jill Morrison (11.0) are also averaging double figures each contest. Â
• Sophomore Carmen Grande has dished out 61 total assists so far this season, she is averaging 8.7 assists per game which ranks second nationally. Grande registered a career-high 13 assists this season against North Carolina A&T (11/23) and Chicago State (12/1).
