December 05, 2016 | Women's Tennis
MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State women's tennis coach Max Norris announced that Victoria Sec has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Cardinals in 2017-18.
"We are very happy Victoria chose to continue her tennis career at Ball State," said Norris. "Victoria is a hard worker, a great person and a great player. She is not only a good singles player, but is also an accomplished doubles player which will be a great asset to our program. Victoria has a great understanding of how to be successful playing college tennis. Over the past few years she has trained at the John McEnroe Academy with some of the most elite New York City area players, including her brother Oliver who plays at Indiana. I know we are getting a mature, high-character person in Victoria. We are excited to work with her next year."
Sec comes to Ball State from Manhattan, NY, and attends the Beacon School located in New York City. She is a four-star recruit and ranked 134 in the United States by tennisrecruiting.net. Sec is also ranked sixth in her class for the state of New York.
In 2016, Sec had great success competing in the United State Tennis Association summer circuit. She won the 2016 USTA Eastern Empire Cup National Doubles Tournament, the USTA L1 Pingry June Singles Championship and was a semi-finalist in the 2016 USTA Port Washington L1 singles tournament.
The daughter of Eva Buckova and Lubos Sec, she has one brother, Oliver, who is a sophomore on the men's tennis team at Indiana.
