The Ball State women's basketball team travels to Western Kentucky for a 6:30 p.m. (EST) tipoff Wednesday at E.A. Diddle Arena. This marks the fourth-straight year the Cardinals have played the Lady Toppers. The Cardinals lead the all-time series record, 3-2. Ball State won its last meeting over the Lady Toppers on Nov. 20, 2015 by a score of 74-60 in Worthen Arena. The Cardinals are 1-1 at Western Kentucky winning in overtime by a score of 72-71 in 2009 and then suffering an 84-59 loss on Dec. 21, 2014.
• Ball State fell to 6-4 on the season Sunday after suffering a 78-74 loss at home to Lipscomb. The Cardinals have won their last two games on the road at Butler (74-50) and at Oakland (66-59). Western Kentucky enters today's contest on a two-game win streak after defeating Lipscomb (87-35) and Charleston (89-76) in E.A. Diddle Arena. The Lady Toppers have only suffered one home loss this season which was on Nov. 19 against Indiana (85-74).
• After earning Mid-American Conference Player of the Week last week, senior center Renee Bennett tied her career high 28-point performance against Lipscomb Sunday afternoon in Worthen Arena. Bennett also added 11 rebounds that game for her third double-double of the season. She is the only Cardinal to have scored in double figures in all of Ball State's 10 games this season.
• After 10 games, three different Cardinals are averaging in double figures in scoring, led by senior center Renee Bennett with 17.6 points per game. Junior forward Moriah Monaco registers (14.1 ppg) while sophomore guard Destiny Washington rounds out the double digit figures averaging (10.0) points per contest.
• Sophomore Carmen Grande has dished out 83 total assists so far this season, she is averaging 8.3 assists per game which ranks third nationally. Grande registered a career-high 13 assists this season against North Carolina A&T (11/23) and Chicago State (12/1).
