Men’s Swimming and Diving To Compete in the Eastern Michigan Invitational

MUNCIE, Ind. – The men's swimming and diving team will travel to Ypsilanti, Michigan to compete in the Eastern Michigan Invitational tomorrow and Saturday.

The Cardinals also competed in the invitational last season and finished in third place. Tanner Barton, Jacob Eckert, Bradley Ridge and Austin Green were among some of the top finishers for the Cardinals in last year's competition and will look to come up big again this year.

The following are the event leaders on this Cardinal's team:

Senior Austin Green leads the team in the 50 freestyle (21.81) and in the 100 freestyle (48.18).
Senior Tanner Barton leads the team in three events, the 200 freestyle (1:47.95), the 100 butterfly (52.58) and in the 200 butterfly (1:57.08).
Junior Isaac Walling's time of 4:55.80 puts him first among his teammates in the 500 freestyle. He also leads the team in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:07.53.
Freshman Chase Jackson has a time of 53.46 that puts him in the lead in the 100 backstroke.
Freshman Logan Ackley leads the team in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:58.43 and in the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.51.
Sophomore Cullen Tyler leads the team in the 100 breaststroke at 1:00.43 and in the 200 breaststroke at 2:12.83.
Freshman Ben Andrew leads the team in the 400 IM with a time of 4:23.16.

This weekend's competition will round out the first half of the season for the Cardinals. They won't return to action again until after the New Year when they take on IUPUI and Xavier on January 6 at 6 p.m.
