Women’s Swimming and Diving To Host Two Meets This Weekend

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's swimming and diving team returns to action this weekend as they host Bowling Green Friday at 6 p.m. and Tiffin Saturday at 1 p.m. After the meet on Friday, fans will able to get their 2016-17 swimming poster signed by the team.

The following are Cardinals swimmers currently ranked in the top 16 in the Mid-American Conference:

Senior Jessica Extine is 13^th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.12. She is also 16^th in the 100 freestyle at 53.36.
Freshman Peighton Gilbert is 16^th in the 50 freestyle at 24.27.
Freshman Anne Vormohr is 13^th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.70.
Junior Amanda Kedzierski is second in the 100 breaststroke with a lifetime best of 1:03.43. Kedzierski is also 16^th in the 200 breaststroke at 2:24.34.
Senior Katie Horn is 14^th in the 100 butterfly (57.71) and 10^th in the 200 butterfly (2:07.77).
Freshman Sophie Bader is currently 10^th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.75.
Senior Kimberly Scott is currently 14^th in the 400 IM with a time of 4:40.16.

The following are the Cardinals who had a career bests last weekend against MAC preseason favorite Akron:

Freshman Cassidy Blackwin had a 10:43.77 in the 1000 freestyle.
Freshman Elizabeth Graham had a 10:50.65 in the 1000 freestyle.
Sophomore Audrey Mayer had a 1:58.93 in the 200 freestyle.
Freshman Anne Vormohr had a time of 57.70 in the 100 backstroke and a 2:07.77 in the 200 backstroke.
Junior Amanda Kedzierski had a career and lifetime best of 1:03.43 in the 100 breaststroke. That time also put Kedzierski into second all-time in Ball State history.
Freshman Peighton Gilbert had a 54.50 in the 100 freestyle.

After this weekend, the Ball State women's swimming and diving team will be in action again on Nov. 11 as they travel to Illinois State. Meet time is set to begin at 6 p.m.
