Men’s Swimming and Diving Falls to Grand Valley State

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The men's swimming and diving team fell to Grand Valley State, 198-97, on Saturday afternoon in Allendale, Michigan.
Junior Isaac Walling had an impressive first place finish in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:07.53. Walling also finished third in the 400 IM with a time of 4:33.93.
Senior Tanner Barton finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.17.
Freshman Ben Andrew took first place in the 400 IM with a final time of 4:23.16. Senior Jacob Eckert was right behind him finishing second in the 400 IM at 4:29.32.
The Cardinals took first and second place in the 800 freestyle relay. The first place finish consisted of Tanner Barton, Logan Ackley, JD Middleton and Banistre Lienhart. The second place finish consisted of Jack Luddy, Alec Tuthill, Jacob Eckert and Isaac Walling.
On the diving board, Lane Sawyer took third in the 1-meter dive with a score of 225.15. Gabe Dean and Jeremy Taylor tied for fourth in the 1-meter dive with a score of 172.80. On the 3-meter dive, Gabe Dean placed third with a score of 239.41. Lane Sawyer finished fourth (203.70) and Jeremy Taylor placed fifth (191.32).
The Ball State men's swimming and diving team will return to action on Dec. 2-3 when they travel to Ypsilanti, Mich. to compete in the Eastern Michigan Invitational.
