Soccer Places 11 on Academic All-MAC Team

Three Ball State seniors recognized for third straight year
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State had 11 representatives on the 2016 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Women's Soccer Team announced Thursday.
Student-athletes with a 3.20 GPA who participate in at least 50 percent of their team's games are named to the team. First-year players and junior college transfers are not eligible.
Seniors Leah Mattingly, Chay McNitt and Gabby Veldman were named to the team for the third straight year, while juniors Alyssa Heintschel and Lucy Walton earned a spot for the second year in a row.
The Cardinals were also represented by Allison Abbe, Alessandra Fistrovich, Shannon Greeley, Taylor Pooley, Lauren Roll and Emily Scott.
Heintschel was one of a dozen players from the league named to the team with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She and Mattingly were both voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team last month.Â
Ball State went 14-3-3 this season and won the MAC regular season championship for the second year in a row.
