Women’s Golf Second after Day 1 at Kzoo Classic

LEADERBOARD
PORTAGE, Mich. -- The Ball State women's golf team posted consecutive rounds of 302 on a challenging setup Monday to position itself in second place at Western Michigan's Kzoo Classic.
Kelsey Sear led the way with rounds of 73 and 74 on a day when the average score for the field was higher than 80. At 3 over par, she is third on the individual leaderboard, five shots behind tournament leader Hailey Hrynewich of Ohio.
Ball State trails only Eastern Michigan on the team leaderboard. The Eagles (+15) will take a 13-shot advantage over the Cardinals (+28) into the final day. Ohio (+31) is third. Six Mid-American Conference teams are among the 10 competing this week at The Moors Golf Club.
Freshman Manon Tounalom turned in the second-best day for Ball State with rounds of 77 and 75. She is tied for 12th place at 8 over par.
Sydney Anderson and Allison Lindley are tied for 14th at 10 over to give the Cardinals four players among the top 15. Morgan Nadaline is tied for 31st to round out the lineup.
