MUNCIE, Ind. – After picking up its first MAC win of the season last week, the Ball State football team begins a three game home stand this Saturday, Oct. 22 against Akron. The Cardinals have won the last five meetings against the Zips.

Three Things to Know:
1. The Ball State defense has only allowed two touchdowns following intermission spanning the last four games. The Cardinals have notched 24 sacks this year, which ranks fifth nationally. Junior DE Anthony Winbush leads the squad with six sacks.
2. Over the last three weeks, sophomore RB James Gilbert has piled up 524 rushing yards and seven scores. Gilbert's 264 rushing yards last week at Buffalo were the second most ever by a Cardinal. MiQuale Lewis tallied 301 yards at Eastern Michigan on Oct. 24, 2009.
3. The last time these teams met, Ball State rolled off the final 29 points to earn a 35-21 win over Akron on Oct. 25, 2014. WR KeVonn Mabon scored on a 13-yard run, RB Teddy Williamson blocked a punt which led to another Cardinals touchdown, and LB Zack Ryan recorded an interception

2 – Senior LB Zack Ryan needs two more tackles to reach 300 for his career.
3rd – Ball State's defense ranked 11th in the MAC in scoring defense last year, allowing 35.8 points per game. This year, the Cardinals rank third in the same category, giving up 24.0 ppg.
