Women’s Golf Finishes Ninth at Rocket Classic

Kelsey Sear was Cardinals’ top individual with a tie for 21st

PORT CLINTON, Ohio -- The Ball State women's golf team wrapped up Toledo's Rocket Classic in ninth place Tuesday afternoon.
The Cardinals' posted a final-round score of 314, led by Kelsey Sear with a 76. The team also counted a 77 from Manon Tounalom, a 79 from Sydney Anderson and an 82 (shot by both Allison Lindley and Morgan Nadaline).
Ball State finished with a 54-hole total of 943 (+79) at Catawba Island Club. Eastern Kentucky (+51) won the 14-team tournament, followed by Western Michigan (+53) in second and Toledo (+54) in third.
Western Michigan's Julia Champion was the individual medalist at 2 over par, finishing two strokes clear of the field.
Ball State's top finisher was Sear, who tied for 21st at 233 (+17). Tounalom was one shot behind her in a tie for 24th. Anderson tied for 30th, Lindley 36th and Nadaline 53rd.
The Catawba Island Club was a challenging test throughout the tournament with the average score each round higher than 80.
Ball State now has one event remaining on its fall schedule. The team will return to action Oct. 23 at Louisville's Cardinal Cup at The Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, Kentucky.
