September 05, 2015 | Women's Golf
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's golf team will open its 2015-16 season Sunday at Illinois State's Redbird Invitational. The 54-hole event features two rounds Sunday and the final round Monday at Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Ill.
Ball State's lineup will include Allison Lindley, Kelsey Sear, Sydney Anderson, Kayla Adamson and Meghan McDougall. Morgan Nadaline will compete as an individual.
Lindley and Sear were the team's top performers a year ago, while Anderson returns after missing the second half of last season to injury. Anderson, a freshman from Columbus, Ind., will be seeing the first action of her collegiate career.
Lindley, Adamson and Sear all posted top-25 finishes at the Redbird Invitational last year. The Cardinals placed fourth of 16 teams. Ball State was runner-up in 2013 and has started its season at the event four years in a row.
This year's event again features 16 teams: Ball State, Boston College, Bowling Green, Bradley, Butler, Creighton, Drake, Evansville, Illinois State, Loyola, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Oakland, Ohio, Southern Illinois and Western Illinois.
The action begins Sunday with an 8:30 a.m. CT (9:30 ET) shotgun start. Live scoring is available at birdiefire.com.
