Men's Tennis Completes Day Two At Purdue Fall Invite

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team completed its second day of competition at the Purdue Fall Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The day was highlighted with two Cardinals making it to their championship match of their respective flights. Conner Andersen took down Diogo Soares of Eastern Kentucky in the Flight C quarterfinals by a score of 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-3.
Patrick Downs defeated Scott Christian of Marquette in straight sets (6-0, 6-4) and will advance to the finals of the single Flight E bracket.
In doubles action, Conner Andersen alongside doubles partner Collin Rigney captured an 8-4 victory in the double semifinal round over Louisville's George Hedley and Christian Haushammer. Andersen and Rigney would then lose in the final match to Southern Illinois University.
The Ball State men's tennis team will end competition at the Purdue Fall Invite Sunday beginning at Noon.
