Women?s Golf Places Ninth at Cardinal Classic

YORKTOWN, Ind. -- The Ball State women's golf team remained in ninth place Tuesday as its home tournament, the Cardinal Classic, wrapped up in beautiful conditions.
The Cardinals posted a team score of 311 to finish the 54-hole event with a total of 928 (+64) at The Players Club. Allison Lindley was the top finisher for Ball State in a tie for 18th.
Eastern Kentucky held a massive lead entering the final day and cruised to a 13-shot victory with a total of 867 (+3). Eastern Michigan (+16) finished second, while Northern Illinois (+24), Bowling Green (+39) and Xavier (+41) rounded out the top 5.
Eastern Michigan's Kelsey Murphy tied the tournament record with a final-round 66 to win by four strokes at 211 (-5). Eastern Kentucky's Amanda Lindahl (-1) was runner up and one of three Colonels to place in the top 5.
Kayla Adamson led Ball State on the final day with a 75. The Cardinals also counted a 77 from Kelsey Sear, a 78 from Lindley and an 81 from Morgan Nadaline.
Lindley spent most of the day in the top 10 until a late triple bogey. Her total of 225 (+9) was good for an 18th place tie. Adamson's round moved her up to a tie for 34th at 232 (+16).
Ball State will continue its fall season Oct. 5-6 at the TPC River's Bend Bearcat Classic in Cincinnati.
