MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State soccer team has become accustomed to life on the road in the opening month of the 2015 season.
With seven of its eight non-conference games away from home, the Cardinals went looking for opponents and experiences that would prepare them for Mid-American Conference play.
The last of those games comes Sunday afternoon, again on the road, as Ball State visits Morehead State of the Ohio Valley Conference.
The Cardinals remember the first meeting between the teams well. It came just a year ago in Muncie. Ball State was in control until the Eagles scored in the 89th minute and escaped the Briner Sports Complex with a 2-2 draw in overtime.
The Cardinals (3-2-2) enter this matchup coming off some quality play against quality opponents. While they are looking to break into the win column again, their last three games include a pair of draws against power conference teams -- LSU and Indiana -- and a 1-0 loss to a stingy Middle Tennessee squad.
Morehead State (3-4-1) played twice last weekend, defeating Francis Marion (S.C.) 5-3 and playing Charleston Southern to a 2-2 draw. Ball State and Morehead State have one common opponent so far in 2015. The Cardinals defeated Wright State 2-1, while the Eagles lost to the Raiders 3-1.
