MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State women's golf team will host its home tournament, the Cardinal Classic, Monday and Tuesday at The Players Club in Yorktown.
For the first time in its history, dating back to 2001, the tournament is shifting from 36 to 54 holes. The first two rounds will be played Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, while the final round will be played Tuesday, starting at 9 a.m. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
The tournament will feature 16 teams: Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Cleveland State, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Indiana State, IPFW, Northern Illinois, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Ohio, Western Illinois, Western Michigan and Xavier.
Eastern Michigan won the event last season, defeating Western Michigan in a full-team playoff on the first hole. Ball State, which has won the tournament three times, finished sixth a year ago.
The Cardinals' lineup for this year's event will include Kelsey Sear, Allison Lindley, Sydney Anderson, Morgan Nadaline and Kayla Adamson. Meghan McDougall and Karley Dobis will compete as individuals.
Sear tied for fourth at last year's Cardinal Classic, while McDougall tied for eighth. Nadaline was the Cardinals' top finisher at the season-opening Redbird Invitational earlier this month.
