MUNCIE, Ind. - - Ball State men's volleyball alum Graham McIlvaine will compete with the U.S. Men's National Team to take on world No. 1 ranked Brazil in four USA Volleyball Cup matches on Aug. 23-29 at sites around Southern California.
The team is constructed of a 12-man roster that includes fellow Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association player Thomas Jaeschke of Loyola, a two-time MIVA Player of the Year. Leading the team is head coach John Speraw, who is assisted by Matt Fuerbringer and Mike Wall.
McIlvaine and Team USA won the 2014 FIVB World League and will compete with the addition of Jaeschke and Aaron Russell for the USA Volleyball Cup against Brazil. After finishing second at the 2012 Olympic Games, the 2014 FIVB World League Final Round and the 2014 FIVB World Championship, Brazil will prove to be a competitive team.
Since his graduation from Ball State in 2014, McIlvaine played one professional season abroad in Denmark with the Boldklubben Marienlyst Volleyball Club prior to beginning his international playing experience for Team USA at the IX Men's Pan American Volleyball Cup in Tijuana, Mexico.
