Two-Time Champ Hague Leads Women?s Golf to EKU
April 02, 2015 | Women's Golf
UPDATE: Heavy rains and stroms have delayed the start of the Colonel Classic. Play is now scheduled to begin Friday at 2 p.m., weather permitting.
The Ball State women's golf team tees it up this weekend at Eastern Kentucky's Colonel Classic with 54 holes over two days in Richmond, Ky.
After a one-year absence, the Cardinals are making their return to the event at Arlington Golf Club. Jenna Hague is the only Ball State player who has competed in the tournament before, but she carries with her some extremely positive memories.
Hague has played the Colonel Classic twice and won it both times. She managed the first of her six collegiate victories there as a freshman in 2012 and then won it again as a sophomore in 2013. The second win came as part of a team runner-up finish for the Cardinals.
This week's Ball State lineup will also be bolstered by the return of Allison Lindley, who missed the team's most recent event because of illness. Lindley and Hague will be joined in the lineup by Kelsey Sear, Karley Dobis and Meghan McDougall. Mary Ellen Romero and Morgan Nadaline will compete as individuals.
The 12-team field for the Colonel Classic includes Austin Peay, Ball State, Bowling Green, Campbellsville, Cleveland State, Cumberlands, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, IUPUI, Northern Kentucky , Ohio and Tennessee Tech.
The teams are scheduled to play 36 holes Friday, starting at 8:30 a.m. The third and final round will be played Saturday. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
The Cardinals will be playing their final event before the Mid-American Conference Championships later this month in Lebanon, Ohio.
