Men?s Golf Wraps up Boilermaker Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Fourth-ranked Illinois rolled to a 32-shot victory Sunday at the Boilermaker Invitational, where the Ball State men's golf team competed this weekend.
The Illini finished the 54-hole event at 829 (-35) at Purdue's Kampen Course. Louisville came in second as the only other team under par at 861 (-3).
Illinois players occupied the top four positions on the final individual leaderboard, including Tomas Detry and Charlie Danielson in a tie for first place at 10 under par.
Ball State finished 15th as a team at 921 (+57) after posting a final-round 312 on Sunday. Zach Yinger led the Cardinals with a 77 on the final day.
Michael VanDeventer and Tyler Ostrom finished as the top Cardinals individually in a tie for 59th at 230 (+14). Ostrom was playing in his first tournament of the spring after missing time with an injury.
This weekend's tournament marked the final action for Ball State before the Mid-American Conference Championships, which will be played May 1-3 at the Mayfield Sand Ridge Club in Chardon, Ohio.
