Dahl Leads T&F On Final Day Of MAC Championship

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - - The Ball State indoor track & field team closed competition in the 2015 Mid-American Conference Championships with two more points Saturday to place 11th out of the 12 teams competing at Central Michigan's Jack Skoog Indoor Track & Field Complex.
Junior Danielle Dahl (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) led the Cardinals on the final day of competition, placing seventh in the 800m run with a finals time of 2:18.54. For her effort, Dahl scored two points for the Cardinals who finished the two-day meet with a combined score of 22 points.
Eastern Michigan won the meet with a score of 110.75 points, followed by Akron (107.75), Kent State (90.75), Northern Illinois (79), Buffalo (50), Toledo (48), Western Michigan (45), Central Michigan (39.75), Bowling Green (35), Miami (26), Ball State (22) and Ohio (9).
Senior Rebecca Lomax (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport), who placed fourth in Friday's pentathlon, narrowly missed scoring again for the Cardinals Saturday, as she placed ninth in the high jump by clearing the bar at a height of 1.63m (5-4.25).
Other individuals competing on the final day for the Cardinals were sophomore Gabrielle Perryman (Beachwood, Ohio/Beachwood) and junior Michaela Hull (Bloomington, Ind./South), who placed 15th in the triple jump (10.86m / 35-7.75) and shot put (12.79m / 41-11.5), respectively.
The Ball State track & field program will now begin preparation for the outdoor season which is slated to being March 19-20 at the USF Bulls Invitational in Tampa, Fla.
