MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team is looking for its second-straigt win at home Sunday afternoon when it welcomes Evansville to the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center for a 1:30 p.m. first serve.
The Cardinals are coming off of a 4-0 loss on the road at Xavier Friday night while the Purple Aces are looking for their third win of the season after defeating Oakland by a score of 6-1 in Fort Wayne Saturday. Ball State enters the match with a 2-2 record while Evansville will come to Muncie with a 2-1 ledger.
Friday against Xavier, the Cardinals trailed the Musketeers 1-0 after doubles play. Xavier clinched the match after winning at the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles positions all in straight sets. After the match, Ball State head women's tennis coach Max Norris said that Xavier was a great program and was definitely a championship caliber team. Norris claimed he didn't do a great job preparing his team and that he needed to have them more ready for doubles. He did say the team would come ready to play Evansville Sunday.
After Sunday's match, Ball State will continue to play non-conference action at home Friday against Bradley at 6 p.m. in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
