Men's Tennis Serves Up 7-0 Win At Wright State

DAYTON, Ohio - The Ball State men's tennis team rolled past Wright State, 7-0, Sunday afternoon at the Dayton Center Courts facility. With the win the Cardinals improved to 4-5 on the season while the Raiders fall to 2-5 in spring action.
The Cardinals took the early 1-0 advantage over the Raiders after earning a 6-1 win on court No. 2 and a 6-2 victory at the No. 3 spot. Ray Leonard paired up with teammate Collin Rigney for the win at the No. 2 doubles position and Lucas Andersen alongside fellow Cardinal Matt Helm claimed the match on court three.
After that, Ball State took all six singles matches from Dayton. Andersen, Leonard, Patrick Elliott, Jan Jirus and Rigney all defeated their respective opponents in straight sets. Andrew Stutz would take down Simon Cote' on court five in a three set thriller. Stutz dropped the first set to Cote' 6-0 but came back to win the second set 6-2 and then clinched the win with a 6-0 victory in set three.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues non-conference action when it hosts a doubleheader Friday against Anderson (3:30 p.m.) and Taylor University (6:30 p.m.) at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
