Watts Climbs to Second, Men?s Golf 12th in Hawaii

LAHAINA, Hawaii -- Ball State's Johnny Watts posted his second straight round in the 60s Saturday to climb into second place through two rounds at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic.
Watts fired a second-round 68 (-3) at the Royal Ka'anapali Course at Ka'anapali Golf Club. The sophomore moved to 5 under par for the tournament and will enter the final round three shots behind Zach Healy of Georgia.
Ball State posted a score of 299 on a windy day to run its two-round total to 589 (+21). The Cardinals, 12th on the leaderboard, also counted a 76 from Michael VanDeventer, a 77 from Timothy Wiseman and a 78 from James Blackwell. Michael Makris shot 81.
Blackwell is the second Cardinal on the individual leaderboard in a tie for 48th at 149 (+7).
No. 13 Oklahoma (-11) stayed in first place in the 19-team field. No. 12 Georgia (-5) climbed to second, while NC State (-3) is third. The tournament features six teams ranked among the top 40 in the country.
