Mattingly Named to TDS Women's Team of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Junior defender Leah Mattingly of the Ball State soccer team was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women's Team of the Week.
Mattingly helped anchor a Ball State back line that posted two 1-0 shutouts over the weekend and stifled its opponents by allowing only three combined shots. The Cardinals held Akron without a single shot Friday and limited defending Mid-American Conference champion Buffalo to three shots Sunday.
Mattingly also provided the assist on Ball State's goal against Akron, sending a beautiful ball over the top to teammate Madison Oyer.
The two victories kept Ball State atop the MAC standings alone. The Cardinals will play for the conference championship Thursday afternoon at Miami and can secure the title outright with a victory or with a Western Michigan loss or tie at Northern Illinois.
