Women?s Golf Finishes Fifth at The Preview

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- The Ball State women's golf team finished fifth of 13 teams at The Preview, led by Allison Lindley in a tie for third individually.
The Cardinals closed the event Monday with a round of 312 to finish with a 54-hole total of 913 (+49) at Purgatory Golf Club. Toledo (+33) won the tournament, finishing 10 shots clear of Western Michigan (+43) and Eastern Michigan (+43). Akron (+48) beat the Cardinals out by one shot for fourth place.
Lindley led Ball State with a 73 in the final round to finish at 223 (+7), just two strokes back of individual medalist Frida Fougberg (+5) of Akron.
The Cardinals also counted a pair of 79's from Morgan Nadaline and Kayla Adamson along with an 81 from Sydney Anderson in the final round.
Anderson was the second Ball State player on the final leaderboard in a tie for 15th at 229 (+13). The Cardinals had two other players among the top 30 -- Nadaline in a tie for 21st at 231 (+15) and Sear in a tie for 28th at 233 (+17).
Adamson finished in a tie for 46th, while Alyssa Cook tied for 53rd. Cook, who competed as an individual, made her collegiate debut after missing the early part of the season because of injury.
The Cardinals now have one event remaining on their fall schedule. They will travel to Louisville for Cardinal Cup, Oct. 19-20.
Ball State will return to Purgatory Golf Club in the spring for the Mid-American Conference Championships.
