Men?s Golf Tees It up at Crooked Stick

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State men's golf team is just down the road in Carmel this week for the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate hosted by Indiana.
The event features a pair of top-10 teams in No. 1 Illinois and No. 6 Duke, along with No. 24 Purdue and No. 29 Kentucky. Four Mid-American Conference teams – Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois and Toledo – are competing, along with Indiana, IUPUI, Notre Dame and Xavier
Ball State's lineup will feature Johnny Watts, James Blackwell, Michael VanDeventer, Michael Makris and Timothy Wiseman. Albert Jennings will compete as an individual.
Watts led the Cardinals with a top-10 finish at last week's Firestone Invitational in Akron. The Crooked Stick Intercollegiate marks Ball State's fifth tournament in five weeks.
The teams will play 36 holes Monday, beginning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start, and the final 18 holes Tuesday. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
Crooked Stick is a famous Pete Dye-designed course that has hosted numerous prestigious tournaments, including the 1991 PGA Championship, the 2005 Solheim Cup, PGA Tour events and USGA national championships.
