Women's Golf Third after Redbird Invite Day One

NORMAL, Ill. -- The Ball State women's golf team stands in third place among 16 teams through two rounds at Illinois State's Redbird Invitational.
Newcomers led the way Sunday as the Cardinals fired two rounds of 307 on the opening day of the tournament at Weibring Golf Club.
At 614 (+38) with one round remaining, Ball State trails tournament leader Northern Illinois by 10 strokes and second-place Illinois State by three.
All six Cardinals competing this week are on the top half of the individual leaderboard, led by Iowa transfer Allison Lindley, who is playing her first event for Ball State.
The sophomore from Kokomo, Ind., is tied for seventh place at 7 over par with a two-round score of 151 (76-75). Illinois State's Maggie Ambrose is leading the individual race at 1 over par.
Ball State freshman Kayla Adamson is one shot behind Lindley in a tie for 14th with a score of 152 (76-76), while fellow freshman Mary Ellen Romero is next in a tie for 18th at 153 (76-77). Romero is competing as an individual this week.
Kelsey Sear is tied for 31st at 156 (78-78), followed by another freshman, Morgan Nadaline, in a tie for 35th at 157 (77-80) and Jenna Hague in a tie for 42nd at 158 (80-78) to round out the lineup.
