September 27, 2014 | Men's Golf
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State men's golf team continues its heavy fall schedule this week at Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Golf Classic.
The three-day tournament gets underway Sunday at the Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind. The action will shift to Lost Dunes Golf Club in Bridgman, Mich., for Monday's second round before returning to Warren for the final round Tuesday.
Ball State will utilize a lineup that features two seniors -- McCormick Clouser and Zach Yinger -- along with three freshmen -- Johnny Watts, Michael Makris and Michael VanDeventer. Ball State's Albert Jennings will also compete as an individual.
Watts led the Cardinals last week at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate and has played in all three events so far. Of the Ball State players who have competed in every tournament, Clouser leads the team with a 75.00 scoring average.
The Fighting Irish Classic features a small field of eight teams -- Ball State, Davidson, Florida Gulf Coast, Lamar, Long Beach State, Loyola (Md.), Notre Dame and Michigan State.
Ball State will start its opening round on the 10th hole Sunday at Warren with tee times beginning shortly after 10 a.m. Live scoring throughout the event is available at golfstat.com.
