September 19, 2014 | Men's Golf
MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State men's golf team makes the short trip down to Zionsville, Ind., this weekend for the Wolf Run Intercollegiate.
McCormick Clouser is coming off a career-best tie for fourth place two weeks ago at the Northern Intercollegiate and will lead the Ball State lineup into the challenging Wolf Run Golf Club.
He is joined in the lineup once again by Zach Yinger, James Blackwell and Johnny Watts. Derek Kundenreich, who turned in a strong performance at the season-opening Notre Dame Kickoff Challenge, rounds the lineup this week, while Tyler Ostrom will compete as an individual.
Indiana is the host school for the event, which also features Chattanooga, Eastern Michigan, Florida, Houston, Illinois, IUPUI, Kentucky, Miami University, Northern Illinois, Penn State, South Alabama and William & Mary. Three of those schools – Houston, Illinois and Kentucky – competed in the NCAA Finals last spring.
The 54-hole tournament begins Saturday with two rounds of continuous play. The final round will be played Sunday. Ball State took second place in its most recent appearance at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in September 2010.
