SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. -- Allison Lindley sits in sixth place through two rounds to lead the Ball State women's golf team at the Cardinal Cup.
Lindley is 2 over par with a total of 146 (72-74) after the opening two rounds Monday at the University of Louisville Golf Club.
Ball State is eighth out of 17 teams with a two-round total of 608 (300-308). Middle Tennessee leads the way at 584 (+8), followed by Louisville (+17) and Memphis (+18).
Lindley, a sophomore from Kokomo, Ind., is four shots off the individual lead held by Michaela Fletcher of Memphis. She put an exclamation point on her opening round by holing out from the fairway for eagle and then followed it up with a steady second round.
Kelsey Sear also opened with an even-par round, a career best, to help the Cardinals to a fourth-place position after the first round before dropping a few positions in the afternoon.
Sear owns a total of 155 (72-83) and sits in a tie for 44th with teammate Kayla Adamson who also carded a 155 (77-78). Jenna Hague is one shot in front of them in a tie for 38th at 154 (79-75).
Morgan Nadaline, competing this week as an individual, sits at 158, while Mary Ellen Romero rounds out the lineup at 164.
