Baseball Team Ranked 26th in National Poll

Ball State's baseball team is ranked 26th in the nation in this week's Collegiate Baseball Poll presented by Big League Chew bubble gum.
"It is a great honor for our program to be recognized nationally," Ball State head baseball coach Rich Maloney said. "Despite our rich tradition it has been a while since we have got this kind of recognition. This is great for our seniors and all the players in the program."
The Cardinals are 38-16 overall and 22-4 in the Mid-American Conference plus have secured the No. 1 seed in the MAC Tournament that starts Wednesday.
Under the direction of head coach Maloney, Ball State won the MAC Regular-Season Championship and the MAC West Division, and will face Western Michigan in its first game of the MAC Tournament Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. The tourney will be held at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon, Ohio.
